The jazzahead! Festival presents the partner country The Netherlands
Every year in April, the jazzahead! Festival takes place parallel to the jazzahead! trade fair in Bremen. Together with numerous cooperation partners, we organize a city-wide music and cultural program around the world's largest meeting place for the jazz scene. In addition to the showcase festival, the program includes CLUBNIGHT, the gala concert and a supporting program.
In 2024, the festival will focus on the Netherlands, a very special partner country. From April 11 to April 14, we can look forward to a modern and surprising sound!

Gala Concert and Mambo with Maite Hontelé, Ramón Valle & Ronald Snijders
jazzahead! goes mambo - Dutch trumpet star Maite Hontelé and the internationally renowned Dutch youth jazz orchestra NJJO (Nationaal Jeugd Jazz Orkest) – and more guests still to be announced – are booked for the Gala Concert, which will take place on Saturday, 13 April 2024 at 8 pm in the Hansesaal of Congress Centrum Bremen. Cuban mambo will take centre stage at the concert.

Tickets for the the jazzahead! Gala Concert 2024 are now available. Tickets for this are available from the advance booking offices or by calling 0421 – 36 36 36, as well as from Nordwest Ticket-Webshop . Tickets are also available from the ticket service at the GLOCKE ( 0421 – 33 66 99), at the Weser-Kurier press centre, at all regional newspaper outlets and soon here.The Opening Ceremony is taking place at Thursday 11th at 1:00 PM in Hall 7.

"Showcases" are the 30- to 45-minute short concerts at jazzahead!
INTERNATIONAL CALL AS PART OF THE FOCUS "IMPROVISATION AND JAZZ FOR KIDS"
The focus "Improvisation & Jazz for Kids" of the jazzahead! specialist program opens up on several levels in 2024. With an international call for proposals, the program is looking for concert formats and specialist input from a wide variety of musical and educational cultures. The children's concert showcase format, which will take place again 2024, could therefore also come from Cape Town or New York. Thematically, the program opens up for other pedagogical settings apart from pure school contexts and focuses more on educational work in the context of for example festivals. Another component of the program will be a keynote speech followed by a panel discussion on the topic of "Musicians in schools", which has been promoted by jazzahead! for many years.

1 TICKET - 1 NIGHT: JAZZAHEAD! CLUBNIGHT IN BREMEN
Since 2011, jazzahead! has been presenting jazz and related music in Bremen's city centre for a predominantly regional audience as part of its CLUBNIGHT. Every year, around 35 venues take part in the much-loved long night of jazz, which is to be held on the Friday evening of the trade fair in 2024. Clubs, bars, theatres, museums, churches and hotels, they all become live venues on this night.

BY BIKE YOU CAN GET AROUND IN BREMEN AND TO THE FESTIVAL VENUES QUICKLY, FLEXIBLY AND RELAXED
In cooperation with Bremen Bike it! we organize bike rental in front of Hall 7:
Taking the bike is a quick, convenient and stress-free way to get around Bremen and to the various venues of the jazzahead! festival. You’ll find everything you need at the Bike it! bike station, where WK-Bikes are available for hire. They can also be rented and dropped off throughout the city by using the ‘nextbike’ app. Installing the ‘nextbike’ app and registering for WKBike gives you maximum mobility. You want to know the way? Then try the free Bremen Bike Citizens App – it knows all the cycling routes in the city, all the venues for the jazzahead! CLUBNIGHT and speaks several languages.

In cooperation with ADFC Bremen we organize guided bike tours through the jazzahead! CLUBNIGHT.
Members of ADFC receive the ticket at the reduced price of 20 €.
HOW TO PLAY DURING CLUBNIGHT
In parallel to the official Showcase-Festival the jazzahead! CLUBNIGHT will take place in about 35 venues in Bremen. CLUBNIGHT is not part of the showcase festival.
The booking of the bands will be handled exclusively by the clubs, but jazzahead! will help arrange country or label nights and will also forward showcase applications selected by the artistic management team to the clubs on request. So there is no additional application process.
